Dirges of a Withered Romantic

Jacob Anthony Moniz (he/him) is a writer and visual artist from California. He holds degrees from UC Santa Cruz, NYU, and the University of Notre Dame. His writing has appeared in Catamaran Literary ReaderPenumbraChicago Quarterly ReviewThe Ocotillo Review, and Southeast Review, among other journals and publications. A short play, “Hug Them ’til the Screaming Stops,” is forthcoming in A Common Well Journal and a short story, “To Keep the Mind Quiet,” will be anthologized in The EastOver Anthology of Rural Stories, 2024. Jacob was a Fulbright Student Researcher to São Miguel Island in the Azores, where he taught storytelling and worked on a multimedia project centered on his family history.
