









Artist Statement:
These are part of a series of poems collaged from a damaged copy of Rudyard Kipling’s 1901 novel, Kim, that my friend Allen rescued from our school library’s discard pile.

Joshua Johnston was born and raised in Caneyville, Kentucky. His work has appeared in such publications as Black Warrior Review, Salt Hill, Ninth Letter, and The Offing. He currently lives and teaches in Nashville, Tennessee.
