This is a selection from Rebecca Hart Olander and Elizabeth Paul’s second collaborative manuscript Our Edges Away. It resulted from a year-long exchange in which each sent the other an original collage and responded the following month with a poem based on the collage along with a new collage. NOTE: The Indianapolis Review has not included the poems here, we have only published the collages, and we changed their order, as well.

Rebecca Hart Olander’s poetry appeared recently in Plath Poetry Project, Mom Egg Review, and SWIMM Every Day, and her first chapbook is forthcoming from dancing girl press in the fall of 2019. She is a winner of the Women’s National Book Association Poetry Award and a Pushcart nominee. Rebecca teaches writing at Westfield State University in Western Massachusetts and is editor/director of Perugia Press.

Elizabeth Paul’s chapbook Reading Girl is a collection of ekphrastic prose poems inspired by paintings of Henri Matisse.  Her poems and essays are published or forthcoming in Cold Mountain Review, Carolina Quarterly, The Briar Cliff ReviewSweet, and elsewhere.  Liz served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kyrgyzstan and currently teaches writing at George Mason University in Virginia.
