The Turn of The Tide

A Bouquet of Words
Artist Statement:
A chance sighting of 2 pieces of erasure by Tom Phillips at an arts venue bookshop led to my adopting the technique as a means of finding the words I lacked as a socially mute young woman in my 20s. The artist even invited me to meet him at his studio in London, although I was fairly tongue-tied throughout our time together! Over decades, erasure has continued to be a mainstay method of expression that has sustained me, and is something I’m eager to share with others in creative arts workshops. Any time I am at a loss for words, or unable to come to terms with an issue, I find the words I need, every time. A life-saver.
