Dear Readers and Contributors,
The irony of my process in deciding (or not) to write an editorial for this issue is chilling.
I have written and deleted and written and deleted, in my head and on the page.
My father just died a couple months ago, and I have been a bit of a mess.
And to those of you who may know what has been going on in my state re: academics…
People are scared. People are making escape plans.
I am horrified by everything that is happening, but you all give me hope.
I applaud all the contributors to this issue who are responding to this censorship with their words and art and bravery.
In solidarity,
Natalie Solmer
