Artist Statement:
These erasure poems were inspired by a National Poetry Month challenge of creating a found poem every day from the pages of The Silence of the Lambs. I knew I did not want to put forward more images of women being harmed so I tried to create something very different from the words that Thomas Harris wrote.


Kell Nelson is a poet and artist based in Phoenix. Her written work has appeared in Florida ReviewSeattle Review and Best American Experimental Writing, and her visual work has been exhibited at Modified Arts in Phoenix and the Houston Center for Photography.
